We now have an opportunity with one of our top-tier retail clients who is seeking TWO machine learning engineers to support their FY23 initiatives.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable and efficient machine learning pipelines on petabytes of data in a retail and digital setting
• Grow ML capabilities through innovation in new technology and tools to improve time to market, cost efficiency and performance of data science models
• Work in a cloud-centric environment using tools such as Kubernetes, BigQuery, Spark
• Assist data scientist in model deployment - both batch and real time - and lead best practices in MLOps
• Produce documentation including technical specifications
• Implement standards, process improvements and automation
• Participate in regular review and QA sessions

Qualifications & experience

• Tertiary qualifications in a computer science field
• 2+ years of commercial software development experience
• Proven excellence in analytical thinking and the translation of unstructured and structured data into informative features for model consumption
• Strong communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written)
• Strong SQL skills with a solid understanding of databases, data structure and algorithms
• Solid Python and Linux skills
• Practical experience with ML algorithms, techniques and packages
• Must have full Australian work rights

Highly desirable experience:

• Java
• Apache Beam
• Deployment of real-time model serving APIs
• Frontend integration of ML models
• GCP Professional-level certifications
